While the Pope did not make his stops anywhere but the East Coast, people in the Midwest also have the same interests for the current head of the Catholic Church. Chicago’s new Archbishop, Blasé Cupich, was notably “handpicked” by the Pope himself. A group of St. Ignatius students from Chicago also headed to Philadelphia to see Pope Francis. The Pope also made a couple headline on Iowa’s own Des Moines Register. The people in Midwest is as excited as the rest of 70 million Catholics in the U.S. But, that also does not mean that the people in the East Coast have a better knowledge about the Pope.

During Pope Parade in Washington DC, The Midwest Weekender had the chance to ask around what they know or don’t know about the Pope! From our finding, you’ll definitely know Pope Francis’s name!
