Started as The Midwest Weekender in a small town of Waverly, IA in 2015, The District Weekender is excited to participate in the growing creative and digital community in the District of Columbia and its surrounding metropolitan area. Derived from one basic storytelling principle in journalism that “people are always interested in people”,  The District Weekender believes that anybody can be a storyteller.
